Although I was a TS fan through to the bitter end, I must admit his achilles heel was his blind faith in certain players. Whether it was loyalty, arrogance or desperation it was misplaced, and the knowledge that some players were undroppable irrespective of form and competiton for places must have affected the team.
Price, of course, has no baggage and can play it as he sees it. He has already shown a ruthless streak which is very welcome and that in itself will create competition; players like Livett will know that if their form is good enough and someone else loses form they'll get their chance.
