Quote: Matt_Horton "[iCarlos Tuimavave (Hull FC) receives a Grade A Penalty Notice (no further action) for Dangerous Contact in the Betfred Super League match on Friday night between Hull FC and Warrington Wolves.[/i

[iDec Patton (Warrington Wolves) was found guilty of a Grade D High Tackle charge in the Betfred Super League fixture against Hull FC on Friday March 2. The player contested the grading level but the tribunal were satisfied that it was the correct grading level. The player has two previous incidents of disciplinary on his record (including striking) and within the guidelines set out, a concussive injury should be an aggravating factor which occurred in this instance. Patton received a five-match suspension and £500 fine.[/i

Darlings of Super League:

Quote: Quickening "Made a fist, swinging arm, connects directly with jaw, player knocked out.

Should be a 5 game ban minimum, could easily have broke his jaw. He is hardly going to be a big miss for us.'"

I am sure he will be more careful to play the ball on the mark next time, rather than sprinting downfield and copping for a second tackle.

Richie Mathers on Matt King identical...he only got 3 matches... it could be argued Mathers was much higher off the ground than Patton was too.
also King was stretchered off as he was unable to regain his feet.

I think the lesson here is when you have knocked someone out cold:
1. Apologise immediately to all those in the immediate vicinity of the incident.
2. Put your hand up to the ref and apolgise to him.
3. Put a hand on the unconscious player and attempt to wake him up with some soothing words of comfort.
4. Look crestfallen on receiving the red card.
5. Walk off the pitch slowly looking sad.

Patton followed none of the golden rules. He was still arguing with people as he was going off.... Naive Declan ...Naive..... icon_mad.gif

Didn't Mathers have to jump up in the air to connect with Matt King's jaw ?

I like the "leaving the field protocol " Biscuit.

Well that didn’t work for Ben Flower in the 2014 grand final?
