| I'm not sure, up until this world cup I would have said get rid but his TV appearances have been much improved, we've got to a final when many on here predicted the quarters or semis and should we win he will have achieved something special. If he goes I don't think it's the end of the world too.
Bateman at centre brown in the squad and Heighington too raised eyebrows and split opinions but so far they've not really put a foot wrong and we've made the final.
Who would replace him is the question I'm not sure wane would leave wigan, Smith or macnamara again ? It's probably far too early to even think about Sinfield if he even has the required badges? Do we look for an English coach or look for another high profile Australian coach?

| He hasn't done anything so far to justify staying.
There is absolutely no reason that Tonga team should have been within 2 points of us, never mind arguably deserving to win at the end... they lacked organisation, and Australia would have beat them by 40.
People may point to Tonga beating New Zealand... this is the worst New Zealand team in living memory, with most of their forward pack missing for various reasons. A NZ team who were beat by *Fiji, who Australia then beat by 50 points.
Let's see how the final goes, but if we get comfortably beaten then his tenure has been poor. If we win then it will have been a success. But when there is only one other good team in the competition, a final appearance is the minimum that should be expected.

| I think he'll make his own decision to go regardless of what happens.
2018 and '19 are going to be Great Britain series so he won't be involved in those.

| Speak to some Aussies. They all think he is the best coach they have ever had. We would be mad to let him go but it won't be our decision, he is held in such hi esteem he will do what he wants.
We have just come so close to winning a trophy down under !! He can't of done a bad job ! Regardless of what we think team selection he has done the job and done it well

| WB had 2 selection issues that led to our defeat...Gale and Bateman.
Could we have done better with Williams and Ratchford?...
I think we could, and with such a tight margin at the end, we'd could have had the edge. Perhaps WB took the percentage option and not to make a significant team alteration before the final.
Perhaps then the error lies in the group stages or further back by not playing enough friendly games pre tournament to measure the options.

I think the issue was with the quality of our backs. If you look at The Aussie back line they were more powerful, had more skill and were fitter and faster. Would Williams and Ratchford have improved us in attack, undoubtedly yes. Would they have improved us defensively, absolutely not. I think that lay with the decisions made by WB to put Bateman in the Centres. He wanted to sure up the defence and keep the score low. He achieved this in spades, we just couldn't take advantage of the few opportunities that we made.
