| Hang on a minute, I’ve definitely read rumours on here of him being unhappy, at some point during last season. Both him, Patton and Savelio, something to do with training ground arguments.
So wouldn’t be completely surprised if it’s true. Hope it’s not though, he’d be a big big loss.
But then again, who was happy last season!?

But it's a new season and a new coaching team, so any beef they may have had last season is irrelevant. If any one of those players was to leave because of being unhappy, it would have all been sorted prior to the new regime coming in, which is exactly what Savellio did. Plus he was only on a 1 year deal anyway and got an offer from the NRL.
We've also had our clear out now, we got that done early. I wouldn't expect any more player departures.
The other 2 you mention are still very much here. So I think that rumor, if it did have any legs a few months back due to players being unhappy, is well and truly dead.

Well If it's on here it MUST be true. And considering Currie spent most of last season on the treatment table I doubt he was involved in a training ground bust up.
The only 'bust-up' between the club & a player involved his parents.

| I don't remember anything about a disagreement between Currie and the coaching team when all those rumours about Patton and Savelio were doing the rounds. The only thing I remember reading was a post on the Wigan forum that mentioned how much that poster would love to him have him at their club if he was available. Well, he's stated he's happy here and he signed a huge 4-year contract last year, and on top of that there is only one club in Super League who could afford the level of money that his transfer fee would command. He plays for that club so, ergo, no truth in the rumour.
Having said that I would do a straight swap with Wigan for O'Loughlin, Tomkins, Williams, Manfredi, Gildart, Burgess and Davies with Currie going the other way.

Hahaha well it must be true then if some kid posts on facebook asking the question
Imagine if Facebook or Twitter had been around when Halliwell Jones were painting Paul Sculthorpe's sponsored BMW in the run-up to the Boxing Day derby. The news would have been leaked before we managed to announce that we signed him. Thank goodness we turned him down eventually...

I assume you mean all six for Currie....I'd have thought there would be a 6 figure lump sum in addition..

Wouldn't want him. Think we'll do well to steer clear of players with off-field issues moving forward.

| I think the club have made it clear they want a clean culture here.
However, the best playmakers are always the rogue ones - Long, Sandow, Goulding, Carney et al. So if a young enough gamebreaker became available I’d snap them up, even at the risk of them leaving one year in a la Sandow.

| This is true, and with hindsight, I would still have signed Sandow at the back end of the 2015 season, as we were desperate for a creative spark, so it was worth the punt.
But like you say, new culture now, and we're not that desperate. One bad apple can spoil the barrel. Look at Lineham palling up with Bailey and Sandow.
Not worth the risk with our current squad.
