| I read today that Sam Thaiday is not being offered another contract by Wayne Bennett. He's always come across as a tough player and certainly would bring a lot of experience with him, nice fella as well whenever I've seen him interviewed.
At 32 not overly aged we could do worse for a few years.
Thoughts
Jack.

| JP I have come to the conclusion that we should assume that any foreign import will take a year to settle in (any less is a bonus) and therefore age is crucial.

| Joe Philbin has been very good this year,he could be outstanding next year & with age on his side. Mike Cooper may be much improved next year after his year to settle in.

I'm afraid I don't agree. Before he 'fell out' over contract negotiations or whatever it was he was terrific, sometimes better than Daryl Clark for spells. If he rediscovers that form we will miss him.

| If "great"= "good" then Chinny has a point.

| Michael Monaghan was a great hooker
Mickey Higham was a good hooker
Daryl Clarke can be a great hooker, and is a good hooker.
Brad Dywer is an average hooker.

| Well Clark is only 24 so we are not looking for a 'player in waiting', and I don't think Dwyer has that ability. He is a good bench hooker but I wouldn't see him as first choice. So presumably Dwyer has not been re-signed because his wage demands were too high or we thought Morgan Smith was a better option. Either way, is there much to choose between Smith and Dwyer ? Presumably we cant keep them both.

| Dwyer is a reasonable interchange hooker with a bit of pace and great defence. His decision making is suspect though. Overall it's not one that has me too disappointed.

To clarify, I was saying he was a good signing, as in he will do a job for Leeds as I think a change of scene will do him good.
