Kevin Penny 70 appearances 50 tries
And you think a bloke out of the crowd can do better than Penny.
That's the kind of garbage he's had aimed at him from day one.
Penny is done at this club you should just be happy with that.
For me his treatment here will remain won of the biggest travesties at this club and we've treated plenty rather oddly over recent years. bringing him back from a regular job earning a crust for his family and then not playing him is nothing short of perverse.
But you can rest assured Matty Russel still looks good on the 2018 official Calendar for next year because he sure as poop isn't a good winger.'"
dez Drummond gb appearances 28 Kevin penny 0 dez Drummond highest superstars finishing position #2 Kevin penny not applicable Can make stats suit any argument !! And dezzies 88 try against saints is better than any penny has scored and he played 189 games in 5 years for us I'm sure as with most at some points of the year he was absolutely buggered !!
I agree penny's treatment has been awful, and that has he been at a different club then he could have been prolific and that he has scored some very good try's it's a shame his potential was never really fulfilled reasoning for it is another matter and not really specific to penny but our ability or rather inability to take the potential and develop and grow it into the players they could be ! The fact he returned from Swindon a better player than when he left us speaks volumes for me yes we seem to identify good young players but fall short on getting to fulfill that potential
But he was never a top teir winger he played in some very good sides who were scoring for fun his frailties were counterbalanced by his speed and clear effort and commitment to the club. To say at this stage of his career he should be in the team over two people who have a potential future is unrealistic and not going to help us progress or improve for next year ! I'm not sold on dagger as yet but it's unfair to judge him too much as I'm sure it was doubtful at the start of the year he would have been planned to play first team rugby so the game time he is getting is invaluable as the sae with Johnson maybe not in their preferred position but as said penny has done no better or worse than them soot comes down to wat else do we gain from playing dagger or Johnson over penny and tits development!! That's my reasoning behind my view tho I don't think that it's smiths also note I have not mentioned Russell as I too Amin agreement he is not the player he was when first played for us who was exciting and returned the ball brilliantly and scooted from dummy but not every set!!
