Whoever takes over temporarily (Briers) can do as well as they like, it won’t count for much in the middle 8s, due to the lack of decent opposition and if they do scrape through in 8th, they’ll not do well in the super 8s as they’ve no chance of making the top 4, so the season just peters out.

The cup game out of the way, we will then have 3 very good chances of getting 6 points at home, from Cat's Leigh & Widnes. All Similar poor standard bottom feeders like ourselves...... Catalan may only get 4 more points from their remaining games so we may finish above them in 8th....

Seriously I didn't even go yesterday I'm a season ticket holder and the game was paid for and I chose (for the first time since I can remember) Not to go to a Wires home Game but spend it with my Family instead....

Correct, the worry about the middle 8's is you have to win 5 out of your 7 to avoid the million pound game.

and as Salford fans have highlighted last season they were a decent enough team and would have made the top 8 without their points deduction for cheating.
However in the middle 8's they themselves ended up in the million pound game and almost got relegated ......that can so easily happen to our gutless shambles of a side.

Anyone thinking we are too good to go down needs to give their head a huge wobble...

One of our proudest records is never having played outside the top flight in 140 years....it's impressive. Tony smith could well get the end of that achievement on his cv. In a time when our club has huge financial backing, the best crowds for decades, wonderful training facilities and playing in a very low quality league-that would really take some doing.
