Absolutely. Enough money has been thrown at Project Wires and the recent returns have been negligible. I can't imagine he achieved business success by turning a blind eye to continued failure, inability to perform and without having a business plan and like it or not, professional RL is a business.
Furthermore, if you were TS/RA this morning what would you say to the players? At the point of the Philbin "obstruction" we were in the ascendancy. One decision against you, heads down and a maudlin, self-pitying second half ensues. So do you go through the same training routine? Do you give the players a tongue lashing? Do you send a couple to Rochdale? Pummel them in training or give them a extra day off?
Sadly, having tried every combination of the above with no discernible improvement the only remaining solution seems to be a change in approach, coaching, fresh faces and a few home truths. If not for sporting reasons, then for business reasons because at the moment our stock has never been lower.
