Was Scott Wilson as bad as I remember or is my memory tainted by the state of the club in general during that time period?

For some reason I can't remember him catching a pass and not dropping it. Adam Doyle also stands out during that same period Van de Velde inspired Aussie dross... what a way we've come since those dark days. Don't feel so bad about not winning the treble last season when I think of the late 90s.

Two vastly overrated players for wire....simon gillies and danny farrar. Id also lump nikau in there.

Nikau was awesome at Cas but never really 'did it' for me at Wire.
Lot of high shots iirc....

People always say Gillies and Wilson, whilst individually they may not have broken any records, kohe love would not have scored anywhere as many tries that year without those two inside him

Adam Doyle though does sum up a lot of dv2's signings, jobs for the boys, which BTW as we were a basket case of a club at the time, Was The best we were gonna get.

He was a Aussie who qualified for for GB and also put his hand up for GB

Tony Tatupu-I recall being at Odsal in 1997 and him coming off the pitch absolutely laughing his head off with the Bradford NZ players despite us getting a good hiding!!!

I find it hard to hate any player in the P&B, but a few I couldn't take to were Currier who is Widnes through and through, and turncoats Steve Blakely, David Myers and Kevin "oooh it's raining" Campion (despite the reasons in Fozzies book)

i don't agree that Rodwell was our worst player, he was part of what was a very bad team (whole new breed yeah right) yes he was very predictable and he used to wind me up using that inside pass all the time. but he did try and tried to get a good repore with the fans. For me the worst player to ever grace our primrose and blue as Asotasi by a mile, how he had the cheek to pick up his wage packet is beyond me.

Not sure how Halifax were the worst team to grace super league, when if you say we were lucky to beat them being 16-0 down at one point and assume we must have been at home, as i am sure it was 2002 when they beat us away when Briers kicked about 5 drop goals to try and scrape a win, Topliss came on as a sub and won the game for them. The year after we signed him.
