You honestly don't know how good a player he is. I'm amazed at the criticism. Brown is an excellent leader and one of the best passers of the ball in the league.
He's scored 51 tries in 81 games for Widnes, for a stand off hardly a shabby record.
His biggest weaknesses is pace and his kicking game isn't as consistent as it should be (someone has praised his kicking on this thread which proves to me he doesn't know his game at all).
It's great news for your outside backs as he loves playing blind side and getting the ball to the wings early. He's a huge loss to Widnes and will mean middle 8's for us next year, when we spent much of this year in the top 6 - such is his influence.

I didn't say that it didn't happen it was the "more often" part of RD's theory that I needed to be convinced of and I'm sorry but I haven't spotted a trend
