Quote: Fantastic Mr Catpiss "Thing is, he's not a brilliant centre, he's a terrible centre, he's just an awkward human being and also at times an awkward rugby league player, he's got good mobility for his size and big arms which just makes him awkward and clumsy in attack, Who's capable of having matches where he stinks the place out as well as the matches where he seems unplayable.
His challenge is getting consistency under his belt.'"
You just described the Gelling of 2014, but certainly not the Gelling of 2016. He's been immense. He hasn't had games this year where he's stunk the place out. The pass in the GF was more Bateman's fault for passing to Gelling too late as he was being closed down by the defence. He has very quick hands, usually can put his winger away, and has a good offload as well. He can also put a good grubber in for the winger on occasion. Plus he makes great metres, and is solid defensively. He might not be as good as some centres of the past, but generally the bar is a lot lower in SL now for centres.
I used to dread Gelling playing, now he is one of my favourite players for us, and not just for his personality.
