There was me thinking it might be considered a mark of respect, paid to a team that had just vanquished my own. My bad.
In the case of Hull at the CCF, it was also a small piece of history in the game. I'd paid my money, no-one seemed bothered about kicking me out of my seat, I was in no huge rush to get back anywhere (dinner was booked to allow plenty of time post-match in case I was watching us get the trophy). And having been to plenty of neutral finals (they were the only ones Wire fans got to go to for many a year until recent seasons don't forget), it had become something of a habit to stick around. Suppose I could have left 5 minutes earlier to get in the tube queue.
I think it's a shame more fans of opposing teams don't stick around to do the same. I think it's very poor form when people don't even bother to applaud their own team off after a final. But don't worry, I'm not losing sleep over it.
Like I said, I more bothered about RL generally than Wire specifically. Guess that means I don't have a life. Sorry if this upsets you so much.
