| I cannot understand why we signed him, and paid money. The guy is a unit and cant tackle for toffee, and he has no pace and doesn't even seem to want to play, I haven't seen him play a decent game yet. Not good, we need to be getting better players, I can't understand what is going wrong with the recruitment of our team, its the same year on year

| I can't understand why we signed players with serious injuries like Dodds, Wheeler & Bailey although the jury is obviously still out on Bailey's eventual contribution to the Wire. Add to that long term injuries to Harrison ,Grix ,Ben Evans & Laithwaite & it is easier to see why we are struggling with lack of available player rotation.

| Yes I agree Nine, we have Bailey back now, but Wheeler and Dodds are known for being injury prone. Perhaps Mr Smith needs to take up the offer from Catalan to Koukash on recruitment tips!

| There really isn't such a thing as 'injury prone'. Some players are damn unlucky though.
Warrington have had very good value out of players with a reputation for being the physios best friend.

| I would like to know how ppl come to the conclusion.dodds is injury prone!!
We got tom.lineham to score trys which he has done. But the effort.other areas has fallen well short. Tho its way too early to write him off and some of the reactions on.here are laughable as bad a signing as roy!! I recall similar grumbles when we signed henry faafili. He too was not fast or agile enough for a winger and was a terrible signing, king was garbage and should have been sent back!! Paul rauhihi was not good enough because he did not waltz through defences and we should have terminated his contract after half a season.
I feel for our new signings as if they don't hit the ground running and set sl alight they are garbage when really they don't live up to many fans high expectations. Or fit their idea of what a winger prop whatever should be.
The money paid is negligible compared to football's speculation buys of 10-30m on a prospect.

| Is this someone who is NOT prone to injury???? Taken from Wikipedia!
2013
Dodds played 11 games for the Broncos and he scored his First NRL try against the Raiders in Round 13, But in round 21 against the Knights Mitchell suffered an ACL injury which ended his season but not only his season the following season as well and didn't play for 16 Months.
2014
Mitchell didn't play any first grade in 2014 due to an ACL injury suffered the previous season in a game against the Knights.
2015
In Round 8 there were fears Mitchell had done his ACL for the third time in less than 2 years but luckily it was medial ligament damage. Doods Returned in Round 15 for the Broncos in the win over the Storm and has played since due to teammate Josh McGuire suffering a season ending Achillies injury the following week against the Knights.

| If you think someone getting a broken leg is due to them being injury prone, you are an idiot and shouldn't be allowed near electrical equipment.
Also, in your list above two of them refer to the same injury.

I agree that in comparison to football the money paid is negligible. However, shirley the correct comparative is what fees are paid across the board for other rugby league players, that's the market we are in?
I don't have the exact figures at my fingertips, but, I given what is banded about, it doesn't stack up to what any club should pay for 'only a prospect'. Rightly or wrongly the level of fee will affect expectations

I see your angle j_b.
Let me use your metaphor to see if your opinion is lightened.
If Dobbs was indeed an electrical appliance, and some of which are faulty, but it this case let's assume the item isn't like you said.
Now providing the item is used correctly then it is very likely to continue working, without maintenance, beyond it's recommend working life.
However if the item is misused during its lifespan, then it's highly probable it would break, either it perminant or repairable.
Misused is what could validate the label of injury prone to Dobbs. It's not about how strong his muscles and bones are but rather the technique and/or positions he puts them in.
Technique is what makes certain players put more head tackles in than others. What make players miss tackles more than others and likewise what puts themselves in a position to be more likey to come off with an injury than another.

I think his point is that he has only had 3 injuries (ACL, Knee ligament & Wrist injury) he therefore shouldn't really be labelled as injury prone. He was only out so long with the ACL due to a post Op infection - similar to Bailey only much worse. I would say wherever he is next year, he needs a good run in terms of number off appearances, or he may struggle in future.
Oh and its Dodds, not Dobbs
