Sport is about winning or being exciting to watch. If you're neither of those things, changes have to be made until you are.

Sport is about making money nowadays - very lucrative business. In football you pay for a trophy, RL hasn't got to that level yet but I bet it comes one day.

You can not be exciting to watch, not win any trophies but as long as the books balance and the top dogs get paid this is good business. Not to say it could be an even better business with the first two points worked on.

I completely disagree. If sport was about making money, then it'll all be played out in a casino. Few if any sport clubs make money.

I think the biggest beneficiaries from sport these days are online & telephone gambling empires....they must make more money than tv companies & actuals sports clubs. I don't know what percentage bookies are allowed to invest in sport.
