As someone who follows RU too I'm interested by the Eastmond rumour if there's anything in it. After an acclimatisation process he has just had a fantastic season at Bath, standing out in a team of internationals which probably should have won the title (winning the regular league and beaten in the play-off final by the team which finished fourth...). I think his size may count against him ever being a regular international centre, and I wouldn't be surprised if he is dropped from the English squad at this stage, but if he were to stay in RU I am quite sure he'd get some more caps at some stage and he could earn a fair bit of money, either staying at Bath or playing in France. I do rate him very highly in either code, and if he comes back to RL I'd be delighted to see him at Wire, but I would emphasise that this wouldn't be a player coming back to League with his tail between his legs after failing at RU.

He's a great player and definitely not a failure.

Who cares if someone fails at RU anyway? It's a different game, so if they excel in league, move to union for the money, international honours or whatever then don't succeed and return to league where they then excel again then great.

People talk about the media reaction and in turn wider public opinion, but again, so what?
