No i dont think its because we aren't winning every game comfortably. I can accept defeat when i see effort and pride in the shirt like the loss to Wigan at Wigan this year and even in playoffs last year. We have lost soo much experience and leaders over the last couple of years and have not recruited well.
We lose Morley and Carvell, and replace with England and Asotasi! One a Championship standard player and the other washed up NRL player. I watch the NRL and he was getting dropped from the 17 at Souths the season before he joined us. You could see how lazy he was there and he continued it here.
We have lost Briers and Hodgson and not replaced them. We scrapped through last season with Monaghans leadership and presence. Ok we got Clark to replace Monaghan but they are completely two different players and i know who i prefer!
Fans bagged Waterhouse but i think we miss him.
Everyone can see what we are missing, i wonder however if we have players who have grown far to complacement at the club.
Saints have been through the same thing with the likes of Long, Cunningham, Sculthorpe etc and have rebuilt and come back, i suspect it will take us a year or two also.
