| I enjoyed the game. I thought Salford played well and with some real intensity, it was a test which it took some winning, which we did comfortably in the end. We didn't play that well, and are a million miles from our , but there were some flashes of brilliance. I bet it was a good game for the neutrals.

| Yes, I agree about the HB situation, Patton, Myler and GOB are partial solutions and do not appear to be the long term answer. Plus I am surprised we are totally ineffective when attacking the opposition line. Do they actually practice attacking plays during training ? because I don't see anything.
What about the forward penetration ? ( sorry nurse). We only seem to have Hilly and the occasional sortie from Westwood. Even Asotasi is starting to look impressive. We desperately need some new, ugly, dirty, massive ogres in the front row.

| I'm glad we showed character against a team that wanted a battle... The last 2 teams that wanted a battle were Widnes where won won in the dying seconds, and Hull who we rolled over for..

| Typical Wire tonight. Some great stuff, particularly from Clark and Ratchford, but a team missing a proper halfback. You put an experienced 7 in that side and it would be hard to stop.

| It's in the props where we lacked punch at times not so much in the backs or even backrowers.

| Got the result, that's the main thing. We contained Salford quite well, especially in the first half, other than a penalty and a 'loose carry' they couldn't get in our half.
That said, we lacked any imagination without Myler, we were looking good value for the lead until he went off, then relied on Clark/Dwyer to create.
Bridge was dangerous carrying the ball, but Salford weren't troubled by the thought of a right side attack all night. Laithwaite and Penny didn't get a touch.
Right result, lots to think about for next week. Wouldn't be surprised to see O'Brien in the squad

| Standard workmanlike performance, we're a team that's lost a wealth of experience and are now quite young, we're building a team for the future while still being competitive. We will get experience added next year in Gidley, personally I'd try and get Tim Smith from Wakey, good kicking game and can create moments of magic and creativity.

| Happy with the result the performance was not great though, plus points in currie and ormsby having great games. Clark was far more like it, ratchford is just our best player he has to be in the halves when Russell comes back. Declan Patton was ok , this run of games will do him the world of good in the long term but I do feel it's just a little bit too soon for him right now. We need to beat saints next week and we will be right back in the hunt for top 4, that's a massive ask if we play like we did last night though.

| In terms of the result, it was a triumph of courage over intimidation and adversity. Some of the Salford tackling and tactics were straight out of the Wigan handbook, and in Corey Paterson they have provided Gareth Hock with a car share option for trips to the RFL disclipinary.
As for the quality of the performance, even allowing the for disruption it was meagre stuff at times, and the same questions remain unanswered. The ball carrier looked isolated, lack of inside/outside decoy runners and no-one taking the line on. The defence continues to look brittle, and the sense of trepidation when we're defending in our 20 is tangible.
Nonetheless, the nature of some of our defeats recently has led us to speculate whether the players still want it, and the performance resolved that at least, and in young Dwyer we got the performance we hoped for, and a whole lot more besides.
