TO BE FIXED |

| Clarke - not really shown us the form we'd all hoped for and certainly not at the level of last year. Whether that's down to how we play / how he's told to play I'm not sure.
Sims - the man mountain image was overblown pre season. He's no Masoe, but he puts in a good stint.
Wheeler - a speculative signing that is worth a punt. He's been given a chance and it's up to him to prove he's worth a new contract. So far, he isn't in my book but that's partly because he's been injured and partly because he seems to be a 'utility back' whereas I think he needs to have a standard spot - probably in the halves
So that's our new signings. Not world beating.
But a lot of the other players have also underperformed.
Ratch - incredibly versitile, can play in most positions. Is playing well, but can't do it all on his own. Full back is best position, even though not a specialist.
Penny - very impressed with him this time round. Realizes it's his last chance and is grabbing it with both hands.
Atkins - done ok in fits and starts, but we need him to step up.
Bridge - not fully fit / played out of position. A cracking centre but not a half. Not at his best this season.
Monas - out of position and weight of captaincy is having an impact. Bridge/Monas is the best partenrship so need to keep that together.
O'Brien - plays well, not a complete half but a lot is expected of him, and he's not at that level yet (though he could be given time). Pivot is a key role and probably too much is on his shoulders. Kicking game is not good enough, and I don't think he organizes well enough. That needs a confident player (with a touch of arrogance). GOB is not arrogant.
Myler - ok - has been injured, but I really expect him to be a dominant force in the squad yet he isn't. He's a couple of years down the line from GOB so should take command and give direction. Time is running out. He's not the world beater we expected when we signed him. I really hope he can turn it around.
Hill - consistent and a real force - even though he's not an enforcer.
Higham - tries hard and has some good outings but also a few real cock ups. Probably his last year, but I don't subscribe to the 'bash Higham' brigade.
England - injured but I like the guy and he's really starting to step up.
Westwood - been good in patches (and against Wigan he was very good imo), but we need more.
Laithwaite - not a big guy and not in the Westwood mould. Playing Ok but we need more than that.
Harrison - a prop at 13. I prefer more of a ball playing 13. Struggling for form I'd say.
Currie - we're having to overplay him and it's having an impact on his form. Not sure if he's a centre or second row. Ideally he'd be used more spasmodically
Russell - thought he was a full back but he's behind Ratch. A winger ? Yes but there's a lot of competition. I'm comfortable with him interchanging betwen the two.
Toby King - great future prospect. Play him occassionally this year
George King - as above
Philbin - played well and impressive from the bench. Not the biggest but more than useful.
Dwyer - we need him back next year.
Riley - (I mention him because although he's with London, some seem to thing he's due to come back to us) - not SL level from what I've seen.
Added - Patton - impressed with what I saw. Just needs time. GOB has a challnge on his hands.
TS - a top class coach but not the best at signing players.
Agar - don't know enough about his influence other than whats' spouted here.
Bascially most of the squad are not performing consistently well and given that - as I write this - there is 1 point separating about 7 teams, we need that consistency otherwise we could be out of the eight, let alone the four.
