Quote: Trisprint "Come on WFIII, don't you think Clark deserves a little 'bashing'. No one was looking forward more than me to seeing the current MoS in the primrose and blue, I was even willing to forgive his ill-conceived quoted soundbites from pre-season about going to Aus in a couple of years, but for the life of me I can't look back at one performance of his that gives me optimism for his future here. Now whether it's due to the way he's being told to play is another matter, but up to now he has been dreadful for a player with so much talent.'"
I believe it's simply down to the way he has been told to play. When he was at Cas, he had free reign and you could tell, he was scooting from dummy half, creating line breaks, scoring tries from 40-50 metres out.
He's not done any of that as yet at Warrington and I simply believe he's been told to be more rigid and less creative and it shows. He's a lot slower in the ruck, rarely scoots from dummy half anymore and doesn't look as much of a threat as he did last year.
Yes, the part about mentioning going to Australia was a bit ill conceived, but he wouldn't be the first person to say it and he certainly won't be the last. If he does want that move to Australia, he'll need to play a lot better than he has been but that may involve removing the shackles somewhat.
Some constructive criticism is fine, but some of the crap he has been getting is ridiculous. He's been abused on Twitter by a poster on here, he gets nothing but stick, but that's the kind of fan Warrington have now. All the hanger-on, glory supporting JCL's have joined the bandwagon since we won the CC in 2009. Now after winning 3 CC's, 1 LLS and been in 2 Grand Finals, we're not doing very well, these "fans" are getting annoyed because all they know is success, whereas the people who have supported Wire for years during the tumbleweed stages when we had a s**t team know that patience is a virtue.
Wouldn't surprise me if we only get about 7K for the Wakey game.
