| Quote moving on...="moving on..."Yeah, and every time McGuire has to play on his own he's found out. The point is that we all know that Myler can score trys and that's great but he is the senior halfback and 1st choice scrum half. He should be creating the chances not waiting for others to do so.
The skI'll level waexceptional? Hodgeson told him where to kick it and he did. Would he have done that off the top of his own head? Doubt it.'"
I'm going to ignore the second paragraph as your logic is warped.
But that's exactly the point it was making about Myler and Maguire. They both bring something to the team but need an organising half back.
That's up to the coaching staff to sort.

| Seems strange we went on an unbeaten run with myler out of the halves. First through injury and the game where he came on off the bench.

Who is it you support again? Your last three posts on this thread have been so bad that they're embarrassing.

I remember us having an unbeaten run once when Briers got injured and was out of the halves. He was therefore rubbish. I also remember us winning loads of games with Myler playing in the halves so he must be great.

| I find many post on here embarrassing, is this not a forum for opinion? Or as long as you have the same opinion as everyone else you're ok? All I'm doing is making the point that he is not a half back. He's a skillful player with bags of talent but a half back he is not. you can go on all day how great he is at supporting but when it comes down to it a stand off AND a scrum halfs job is to direct and orchestrate a teams attack by communicating from the hooker and the dummy half, most the time the hooker is both. The two should work harmoniously. At the moment we have O'Brien coming through and showing real leadership and on the flip side myler wandering round and looking lost when he gets the ball and panics. Look at the two passes he threw at Wigan, ok Joel got on the end of one but come on...that's the sort of thing that could be a nail in the coffin in a massive game. Laithwaite (I think it was Laithwaite) and O'Brien were going mad at him over the first one, then he does it again! Luckily we got a bit flukey but in essence we were rewarded for a shocking pass. Then in the last play he gets hold of the ball and puts a grubber into no one when there was the potential for a 3 on 2 if he was to pass the ball and overlap round. Great vision from him there.

Shaun Edwards? Poor player? Never really a player that orchestrated Wigan's attack, but an all time RL great. Myler'sw problem last season was that he had two long spells off with serious injuries and he never really got going. That would be ok for most players, but almost fatal for one who is a potential scapegoat.

We actually lost just three games in four months and Myler played in the halves in many games in that period.
Richie has had an injury hit and inconsistent season, but the previous two years I thought he was one of our better players. People say 'without Briers he hasn't stepped up' but Briers missed quite a lot of last season and Myler played very well without him. He's just been a bit under par this season.
Although saying that - and I do think he is a good player - I don't think he's a leading half with a good kicking game. I too think he's got the attributes to be a Hooker. Rob Burrow made that switch, he too was a half who was better suited to the 9 role.
Imagine a hooking pair of Clark and Myler...I reckon that would be good.

| Myler cannot defend in the middle of the field. No chance at all.

| I think the problem with Myler is people expected alot more.
in a good side next to and organising HB he is a decent player..... in a side with no leading HB he looks a bit lost.
he wont ever be the player some are looking for... i wouldnt be over bothered if we got rid.... i also think there is a future for him.... without a proper HB next to him, like briers, i dont think we will see the best of him

| Please can we stop with this idea of shunting players around who are not good enough for their principal position just to accomodate them?
Myler to hooker and Atkins to second row being just two. If Myler isn't good enough for half-back, goodbye Myler. If Atkins isn't good enough for centre, tara Ryan. I can count on one hand the number of times these things work, that the player actually improves or enhances his abilities by such a move - Westwood, Gary Mercer ...... and now I'm struggling.

| The best Wire have played all season, was strangely when we were thread bare in the forwards yet through adversity 7 games of total domination of all comers and Myler was nowhere near the team!
6&7...R&B.
