| I've never heard anyone with a bad word to say about Greg and his lovely family, on or off the field. Everybodys mate and straight down the middle with everyone.
As far as I am concerned the fund raising goes on. Need to help support the family to pay for the experimental drugs he was on.
A statement about the dinner will be made soon. The "Doin' it for Bluey" tee shirts are on sale at the shop or from me.
We look after our own

| Quote: DallasMead "Been watching since the mid 1980s and Greg Mackey was easily the toughest Wire player I ever saw. Forget Boyd, Cullen etc, this man was 11 stone wet through and got smashed with head shots EVERY match, never injured, never missed a match........wire legend on the pitch and a top bloke off it.
RIP Mate.
You can say that again. I started supporting Warrington in the 90s when Jonathan Davies was in the side. One of my earliest memories was watching a Cup tie (regal trophy maybe?) against (i think) St Helens. Greg Mackey was hurt - a lower back injury. Interchange rule had just been brought in (around 1993/94) and Mackey was in so much pain he had to lie on his front on the trackside, just in front of the dugouts, as he couldn't sit on the bench due to the pain, and he may well have been needed to go back on before the end of the game.
I remember Ray French pointing this out, saying he would have to wait to go to hospital, as Warrington might need him to go in for a stint at hooker. Seriously tough guy.
A very sad loss.

| Excellent player for Warrington and Hull. Tough, reliable and a great leader.
He'll be sadly missed but fondly remembered.

| Sad end, was a great player !
Remember when we signed him(Huddersfield) at the back end of his career, i was absolutely over the moon, used to watch him for you lot and FC on scrumdown and could only admire...we only got a season and a bit out of him but even then he was still an absolute quality player and was one of those at the beginning of Ken Davy's reign that started taking the club back up to the top.
Thoughts to his friends and family, RIP Greg
