Quote cheekydiddles="cheekydiddles"Agree he's been gash for you so far and having watched NRL games last couple of years on Premier, I was surprised when you signed him as he was finished is his last NRL season and thought he was just a 'big name' signing on reputation given you'd lost Morley and Carvell.... But is he any worse in his first season in England than Matt King was and he ended up more than OK for you and yet I recall after his first months many of you were offering to pay his plane fare home'"
Big Roy hasn't been the same player since the bad injury he got in 2010. Before then he was a renowned enforcer, the Kiwi and Souths captain, a star player; over the three years in the NRL since then he gradually became an impact player, then a squad player, then a bit of a nothing player...then we signed him. It was poor scouting by Wire.
At least with King we knew he was a good player when we signed him, not four years ago. He was only 27 when we signed him too so in his prime, poor form at that age is usually temporary. Poor form at 32 after three previous years of not showing any sort of good form, doesn't end with good form.
