I remember playing with his son his house when I was a kid; he had a ton of push bikes in his garage. I remember being sat with him on the bench at Wilderspool when I was mascot against Cas ('95?), he had the foulest mouth I'd ever heard (pretty sure we lost that day) but he gave me half a pack of fruity Polos  . |

One of the best half backs I've seen play for us - just not for long enough. With Ellis in the halves they were more than useful.
Small guy but very tough.

When Mackey embarked a plane to Blighty and asked for a trial, he was so much quicker than any halfback we had in living memory.
After his terms at Hull and the semi pro life he lost some of that sharpness but he homed in on his rugby brain and improved his kicking game to the best I've seen in a Warrington RLFC team.
