| I would like to see such a fixture played - I'd be behind the White Rose of course being a Keighley lad. Just as an aside, take a look how your county has been violated by interfering politicians and their administrative boundary changes...
.
All these clubs are historically in the county of Lancashire, their current administrative status in brackets:
.
1. Widnes (Cheshire)
2. Warrington (Cheshire)
3. St Helens (Merseyside)
4. Salford (Greater Manchester)
5. Leigh (Greater Manchester)
6. Swinton (Greater Manchester)
7. Wigan (Greater Manchester)
8. Rochdale Hornets (Greater Manchester)
9. Oldham Roughyeds (Greater Manchester)
10. Barrow Raiders (Cumbria)
.
The following clubs are in present-day 'Lancashire'...
That's correct - NONE.
Don't know about you but I think this is a disgrace. From Widnes to Barrow, remember your roots and fly the Red Rose flag high.

Depends what you mean by Oldham. Oldham the town itself is of course in Lancashire but if you're talking about the district, over half of it - the Saddleworth area - is in Yorkshire and has never been Lancashire. It was shunted into 'Greater Manchester' along with the Red Rose parts of the borough.

| Warrington Widnes and Salford are unitary authorities and have no "administrative status" to those counties.
Cheshire only exist as a traditional county as it is split into two administrative counties East and West. Warrington and Widnes are in neither.
The council adopted the traditional county of Cheshire as it's ceremonial county.
Yet the traditional county is still recognised and Warrington still lies within Lancashire until the time the river mersey is rerouted north.

OK, I'm with you on that. What a load of confusion though! All the 'Greater Manchester' boroughs are now unitary, not just Salford. But they still get Greater Manchester Police, Fire etc, same as you get Cheshire Police & Fire etc in Warrington & Widnes. Just to add to the confusion. The media especially persist in using terms like 'Greater Manchester' and saying Warrington & Widnes are in 'Cheshire'. I'm just glad Lancashire is still going strong over there.

| Simple selection process, count fingers on one hand....6 and you play for Yorkshire.
Only trouble comes with the Widnes lads...so do a smell test as well.
