Quote: rubber duckie "Sorry SC I disagree.
Warrington is 3rd best on Radio Merseyside after Saints and Widnes. 3rd best on Radio Manchester who no longer cover Warrington but will relay Radio Merseyside commentary if the game doesn't clash with Saints of Widnes, or they use the local station of that region.
Its been that way for almost 3 years because of BBC cut backs.'"
Yes we aren't big on those stations. But Warrington is not really their core audience is it. Radio Merseyside is a station for scousers and I would bet more scouse rugby league fans support Saints / Widnes than Wire. Radio Manchester is more in the region of Wigan and Salford.
But tbh I don't really get upset if these local radio stations don't prioritise Wire.
In all our big victories I don't remember once hearing that Warrington, the underdogs, just won because the opposition had an off day. The big club having an 'off day' line was pointed at us when we [ididn't[/i win SL: a case in point being when Hudds smashed us at home in the 2010 playoffs, or when we lost to Leeds (repeatedly SL champions) at home in the 2011 playoffs. Even going back to 2005, when we lost the playoff to Hull who were CC winners that year, it wasn't seen so much as "a great performance by Danny Brough and Hull" as a terrible off day by Warrington.
