Regarding the Warrington lads who will actually be playing in this match, does anyone know any of them personally?
I only ask because the match is advertised as Warrington U16s v Cumbria U16s, but I’d heard that the Warrington club won’t let the under-16 lads play in the game due to GCSE exam leave, so Wire are having to field our under-15 side. If true, it seems like petty bureaucracy and the U15s might take a hammering from Cumbrian lads who are a year older, but I just wondered if anyone knew if this was actually true?

I do and yes that was discussed last week (although the team has not been selected yet). To be fair the club were trying to look after the long term welfare of the players who have exams starting next week. |

A favourite ground for me as Saints supporters, we (Father in law and myself) went to watch Wire play Cas in a challenge cup tie replay, as there were no floodlights then, I think it was played on a Wednesday afternoon, when we arrived there were that many wanting to see the game the gates were closed, can anyone remember the score and what year it was played.

I realise that the club always has the long-term welfare of the players in mind. Therefore, they ought to consider that three hours on a Thursday night removed from a revision programme isn't the end of the world. A lot of those lads are desperate to play in that match and to deny them the opportunity isn't really going to focus their minds all that well.
I'm all for education and looking after kids, but I honestly find this one baffling. |
