Quote sally cinnamon="sally cinnamon"I always find it a bit cringeworthy when middle aged men that watch male sports, turn in to slavering creeps at the involvement of any female at all.
You get it at the cricket when they have those npower girls, they are just like the girls you would meet on any university campus, and guys in their 30s, 40s and 50s go hanging round them wanting their photos taken with them and saying creepy innuendos. As for motor racing or car shows its even worse because the women are actual models and the audience is even more on the geeky side, the guys become jibbering nervous wrecks.
On internet forums if there's ever any picture of a reasonably attractive young woman taken in the stands, or involved in the media or backroom staff that finds its way on to the internet look at the comments and it is just embarassing, adult men saying hubba hubba and various innuendos. Look at that other thread where they are all going on about weather girls.
I don't even think its sexist, I just think its total cringe for the guys involved. Fair enough if its teenage lads saying it, we were all randy at that age, but when its adult men that have wives and kids of their own it is just embarrassing.'"
Whilst I accept that there are limits to common decency that unfortunately sometimes get exceeded, you seem to know a lot about the subject (as always). These creepy innuendos that those poor npower girls endure from their day off studying classics at univeristy have you had experience, are you an npower girl?
Go ahead and feel a bit cringeworthy for the rest of us it is a free country after all, may be not so much in Cinnamon high Brow?
As someone well past his teenage prime, I'm hoping for many more hubba bubba years whatever they are? My sensibilities will hopefdully stop me from becoming that nervous wreck if I'm ever in the presence of a Formula 1 girl, that would just be the pits wouldn't it? Mind you they are actual models, so should expect a bit of attention shouldn't they unlike those lovely univeristy students masquerading as npower girls to make an honest bob.
As for the weather girls tut tut yes it's a disgrace, let's get Ian McCaskill and Michael Fish back or better still Jack Scott in black and white that'll learn the slavering creeps.
