I really don't see the point of relocating/creating a new location some sub-ten minutes walk away from the existing shop. It seems even more pointless, when you factor parking into the equation. The website is undeniably looking a little dated, but a remit should be given to the designers (www.theonepoint.co.uk), to maintain the site with current techniques. The Arial based font, is a little bit weak, certainly when it is considered with a lack of flash content. The general landing page is a little too busy for me, but that can be easily remedied. To the person decrying the kit design, maybe you should take it up with the manufacturers, ISC, who propose designs for approval. You know, the same company who produce kits for half a dozen NRL sides.

I have memories of there being a Wire market stall in the 80's. Or am I imagining that ?

It was the 90's & also there was one at Birchwood.

I think the rents in Golden Square would be quite pricey, but that's not to say it's a bad idea.

Having said that, every time I walk through there the busiest places are The Pound Bakery & Greggs, so there's your market - less training tops, more pastry. Stock up on saggy jogging bottoms as well and they'd be queueing down to Bridge Foot to get in.

The website could do with updating. Especially for mobile devices. In this day and age that is key. In fact I'd bet that is where the majority of traffic would come from with a feature rich app to go with it.

Let's be clear though, designing and maintaining such things is very expensive.

They had an app a while back, 2011 I think. The problem with it was that to access any of the features you had to pay a monthly fee, but there was nothing on there that you couldn't watch for free on youtube or the main website. They also had a very basic mobile site which was an absolute nightmare, as they somehow made it impossible to access the main website.

With the growth of iPads etc it may be worth creating an app/website where you can watch games and interviews etc for a monthly fee. Leigh Centurions launched their own version of this in the summer and a lot of people have signed up from all over the world, you can watch back recent games as well as classic games and interviews etc for £3.50 a month.
