Tormented us for as long as I can remember almost, that said I'm sad to see him retire, great feet and hands and could read a game magnificently.

A few years ago I was walking along Sankey Street and on the other side of the road were 4 or 5 Wire players...Immaculate track suits, sunbed shop tans obviously thinking they were the dog's gonads...A couple of minutes afterwards a young man in jeans and sweater accompanied by a female walked past me. I thought he looked vaguely familiar and then I realised it was Lee Briers, pasty faced and not particularly smart. Looking at him you'd never dream he was top RL player in contrast to the posers I saw a few minutes previously...Thanks for all the entertainment over the years Lee and best wishes for the future.

Genuinely can't stop crying, the greatest player of my generation, I've loved watching play.

I'm 34 so really Lee started playing when I started going to games independently, I've watched him in most of the grounds he's played in and some of the memories I have are ingrained.
During his times here we have gone through some pretty dark times on and off the pitch and unfortunately for myself so did I, watching rugby every weekend was seriously the only thing that kept me going and Lee has been the architect behind my enjoyment.
This hurts me in a way some people couldn't imagine, thank you Lee, thank you for your loyalty, thank you for sharing your gift with us, thank you for sublime talent, thank you for making my life, just for 80 minutes in a week bearable during my dark times and I hope that our support for you during your dark times means as much to you.

Lee Briers is a Warrington legend and that isn't up for debate, I'll miss you Lee but I'll never ever forget you.
Good luck in the next chapter of your life mate, make it has special as you have made your last chapter for us.

The golden point drop goal, the joining the scrum on the wrong side, the look to heaven when he was announced as MOM at Wembley. To name but three reasons why LB will always be regarded as "A Wire!"

Top player, sad it's ended like this and not as his choosing, best of luck in his new position.

Someone said earlier that he played with a smile on his face, and that really sums him up for me. He clearly enjoyed the game, and was brilliant at it.

I agree with latchfordbob.
It was never going to be easy. But this is better than him starting next year and then have to pack in after a few games or even worse not being picked & him not being able to pick up a coaching job. From a Wire point of view he is not now on the Salary Cap & so we have an opportunity to have a good look around at what might suit us best. I love him ... a great player ... but stopping playing comes to us all.
