It isn't pointless you have been giving two explanations to why this is the case. It has very sound reasons.
It has become more prevalent especially when the trend has been to have only one winger drop with the fullback for kick collection rather than both. |

My pet hates dogs but it is a cat, cats probably hate everything though, even me.
I would hazard a guess thay my cat would even hate bacon and who hates bacon? (Muslims and Jewish people aside)
Ps my cat is neither Jewish or Muslim to my knowledge
