I haven't seen the game, but by all accounts it was atrocious conditions and we found a way to grind out a win, as far away from home as we can go in Super League, against a tough side. That's not bad.
Personally, I would have done what Huddersfield did and changed the entire team from last week, with the only regular first team players even travelling being Hodgson and Atkins for fitness reasons. Tony Smith knows a lot more than I do though and he went the other way. So be it. Three weeks ago we had a disastrous night against Widnes, followed by a week off to stew on it as well as rest the players. Since then we've got our form back and go into the play offs on the back of two away wins which didn't look easy on paper. That'll do for now.

never heard so much bollox spouted on here in a long time(and ive heard a few)..how can a win be such a bad thing...and a win in bad conditions...leeds and there pack is miles inferior to ours..and as quoted by yourself somewhere on here we know what it takes now to win this knockout avin lost last year....bitter man...better luck next week backing leeds

It's totally debatable. personally i think our forwards are far more dynamic than theirs. The wire posters have said they feel their players have learned how to grind in the tight games. Ours have mastered it, Kirke who is regarded as the weakest player in the forwards has stood up time and time again at play off time. Our back line however IMHO is in a different class to theirs and ever other team in SL.
It's all about who turns up on the night. It's a game that could go either way. |
