In fairness to the warrington stewards i have always found them polite and helpful The SECURITY contract firm (the ones in orange vests) however are a different story
Personally i love the irony that a video obviously posted by a Widnes fan to "try and get the steward done" actually appears to show that the steward did not act incorrectly. It appears that every one of those "blows" were aimed at the arm of the spectator to force them to let go of either the barrier or his colleague.
As regards the opinion of the Warrington stewards, as said before there is nothing wrong with what they do and its usually the security firms which is "responsible" for the heavyhandedness. Then again, thats why they are there....to go in and deal with situations when force is required.
As for acting without police permission.......it is perfectly normal for police at sporting events to take their lead from the club stewards.
