| I was seething watching that pile of chod, last night, but I thought "calm down, Lefty, it wont feel as bad in the morning".
I WAS WRONG............COMPLETE FARCE FROM MINUTE ONE.
As deckchair alludes to, above, our left side defence is comical, and is an accident waiting to happen, every time the opposition have the ball.
I know last night was the time or place for Harlem Globetrotters style RL, but we look totally void of ANY ideas with the ball in hand.
We have Briers, injured again, who hasn't been anywhere near his best this season, given another year's contract. I'm still shaking my head at that one.
Myler, injured again, who unfortunately was in great form at the time.
Monaghan M, who is no more a scrum half, than I am.
Ratchford, who is great in broken play, but isn't creative enough for his team.
BRING BACK O'BRIEN, NOW. We have a crisis (not to put too finer point on it) in the halves. I see no other way of rectifying it.
I feel lower than a snake's belly, atm. Even worse than the Stains 80-0, the Bradford 84-10, but not as bad as the Easter Monday 1995 34-0 massacre v Wigan at home (special mention to Francis Maloney for his all round 5h1teness, that day).
It pains me to say it, but our season is petering out before our very eyes, but we can't see it. Since Manchester Magic, we've had a couple of training match "blow-outs" v London and Salford, we limped over the line against severely depleted Wigan and Leeds teams, stuttered to wins over Wakey, Bradford and HKR, and had the implosion that was the CCSF and last night's debacle. Yes, we won all but two of those games, but we've not played well since Myler's injury.
As for the play-offs, who knows.
We are now staring at a potential away game at the PieDome due to last night's "effort". In current form, that doesn't fill me with glee, BUT, Wigan's form is matching ours, scraping over the line to just do enough to win games.
Huddersfield simply poo their pants every time they see us.
Which leaves us with Stains and Leeeeeeeeds. I wouldn't rule out one of them being in Salford on a Saturday night in early October.

| Quote: Wire Weaver "Personally I would like to see.
1. The league winners being crowned "Champions", and receiving a large trophy and the largest amount of prize money in the game, with each team member receiving a medal.
2. The Grand final trophy winners being called just that.
3. The magic weekend scrapping and having the 8 games of the last 16 teams in the Challenge Cup all being played ( 4 games per day) in its place.
But that's probably a bit too simple for the RFL to come up with?'"
Perhaps the RFL has to consider the consequences of the loss revenue that your plan would lead to?
How would you replace the lost revenue generated from the play-offs, including a 70,000+ crowd at Old Trafford, and the reduction in TV revenue?

There would not be a loss of revenue. Teams would still play the same amount of games , excluing the , Magic weekend.
If the weekly rounds were more meaningful more people would attend, and not take the attitude that it doesn't matter because it only matters at the end of the season.
The Grand Final should still attract the same crowd, as it does now, as they are still competeing for the same trophy. I haven't said anywhere to scrap the Grand Final Trophy playoffs.

What do you mean they are playing for the same trophy? You've already said the Grand Final has been replaced as the major trophy by the league table champions.
Do you seriously believe that a "Grand Final" that was in effect an post season jolly would attract a crowd of 70,000+?
To be honest if you think this then you're probably right; you are too simple for the RFL.

I think Magic Weekend is one of the few 'innovations' that the RFL have come up with in recent times that has been successful. I personally loved it and go for the whole weekend every year. One of the problems for me with Magic is that there are too many fans of their club and not enough fans of the sport. By which I mean, some fans are only interested in watching their own team and won't bother with any game that doesn't involve them, making Magic weekend a waste of time & money for them. I'm a fan of the sport and will sit through all the games over the weekend and thoroughly enjoy it. This is the same problem we have with the national squad. Too many people can't leave their blinkered team bias at the door.
