| Great advert. Great idea to latch onto one of the highest profile sportsmen of the moment being a RL fan, clever thinking.
I've already seen someone moaning about how RL can't hold their own when advertising the game, what absolute tosh.

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

| It's a great advert. Slow build up, nice and subtle and interesting spin on the "look how bloody tough and hard we are" narrative that pervades most RL advertising.
As much of a despicable person Tomkins is on the field, he is going to leave something of a gap when he leaves (as opposed to now where he just leaves gaps in Wigan's defensive line). Lenaghan pretty much conceded he was off at the end of year 3 of his contract last Thursday on Radio Manchester. Wonder who the new poster boy will be when he goes to Union?

I bet if they didn't have any adverts showing, you would be complaining that SL is not getting any coverage.
Did you see the advert for "Extraordinary Rugby League" last night on ITV. No doubt you will be complaining that a RL advert is on a TV station that doesn't cover RL.
Why are RL fans never happy?
An opinion is an opinion and everyone is entitled to one.
I just think that RL is a fast flowing and high tempo game, and that advert is a slow building and it doesn't reflect our wonderful game.
RL is commonly known for big hits and tough games. What does that advert show? A fella who has nothing t do with the game cycling up a hill and a player running along side him.

That is why there is little point in showing them. Less well known however that the BBC Sports Personality of 2012 thinks it is the greatest game of all.

| I don't mind the ad, at all. A sideways look at the game, without the typical action scenes. Well done, Sky
Thank God it's something new, as opposed to the stereotypical "big hits" accompanied by sound-affected "oooooffffffff"s when a player is tackled, and obligatory cod heavy-metal music over the top of it all. I'm praying that Sky now have the balls to end the crap intro i.e. cod heavy-metal music and robots running into each other, whenever SL/Boots'n'All is on. Wont hold my breath, though.

I just think that a fella cycling reflects to our game.
How can we attract new fans to watch SL if they don't know wha they're geting?
