Throw whatever play off format you want out, chances are Leeds will still win it all. They won it from 1st and 2nd under the old format a few times and won it from 1st, 5th and 5th under this format. Its no coincidence they've only lost something like 2 playoff games in 7 years!

Every team knows the rules at the beginning though, just do what Leeds have done next year. Play cr@p all year and peak in the play offs.

Champions should be league winners not a playoff competition which is boring till the semi finals.
Correct, play off system rewards mediocrity, hate to say it but Wigan should be champions. Finished top of the league.
totally und leaving the match last night, been more gutted at loosing Locker Cup games.

Do you really think it's that simple and easy?
Ask the players. They know how hard the playoffs are, how hard it is to win a grand final. That's why they'll finish as high as they can to get the best possible route. |

If you look at the history of Rugby League in this country, for the majority of years, the champions have been decided by winning the playoffs. The 27 games in the regular season are just the qualifying round. I also think you would not have been "totally und" if you had won. |

If you didn't attend the GF on principle that Wigan should be Champions your words would carry some gravitas. However, you attended with the hope of winning despite only finishing 2nd. Hypocrite springs to mind!

It's all well and good saying you only have to get yourself up for 3 games, but if you're not good enough to beat those teams, you can be as 'up for it' as you want, but you won't win. This is a quality side, make no mistake about that.
