Matt Busby Way is also a good spot for a drink, fans all mix round together and can usually spot a good selection of shirts.'"
No disrespect Ande, but this is terrible advice. Trafford Borough Council have a strict "No Street Drinking" bye law, and it is rigorously enforced on match days. If you are seen buying beers from the off licences there, you are likely to lose them to the police.
Another good pub is the Toll Gate at Trafford Bar metro link station. 2 mins from the ground on Seymour Grove junction with Talbot Road.

No drinking within view of the pitch or on the corner near the shops.
They've really clamped down on the no drinking on the streets over the last year/eighteen months. They may be lapse in enforcing this on Saturday but they may not so expect your cans to be binned if this is what you were planning.

| For a good day out, what I've done for the past couple of years is go to the beer and food festival which is held at the deansgate town centre.
get there around 1ish, some good german beers, scrumpy and decent foods from various parts of the world.
4ish jump on the metro link to salford quays, a couple of bars around there, then 5 minute walk up to the ground.
get in the ground around 5:45 a couple on the ground soak up the atmosphere.
Enjoy the day guys.

No disrespect taken, ive been the last 7 years and seen hundreds and hundreds of people drinking outside the chippys and off-licences there. They do have a barricade of bins manned by Police as you approach the stadium area.
Toll Gate is a great pub, they have a good area outside where you can enjoy pints/chat with other fans.'"
Last years final was the first where they strictly enforced the rules. I have been to every final, 7 years being of a reasonable age to drink, and previously drank a can or too every year. Grown up slightly now and tend to stick to pubs in town.
Didn't spot a single person drinking in the area you describe and police officers were confiscating cans from those dim enough to buy them, literally at the doors of the off licences and newsagent.
Shame really, used to be good fun and never known any trouble.

Shame that, used to be a good atmosphere down there.
