| Quote: Alfie Langer No2 "I think that's a little harsh on the messiah although I see your POV. I think we are more or less ready for the players potentially off in the next 1-2 years.
Briers - Gaz OB to step up
Hodgo - Steve Ratchford
Morley - Chilly
Monas - Dwyer to step up
Then there's Trent, Westwood, Carvs, Higham & Woody who'll probably also be off in the next 2-3, so we've got a little more time to find their replacements if they don't get promoted from the youngsters.
Next few years could be a bumpy transitional period for us.'"
I didn't mean to sound harsh, simply to point out that TS is obviously ambitious, at the end of his contract, and may well consider there is nothing further to prove here. In addition, I am concerned though about potential player losses at the end of next season. You can also add Micky Higham to that list which means 4 first team players possibly going. That is a lot of change, and no senior hooker for Dwyer to understudy.
Worse case scenario; loss of coach and 4 experienced first team players. That would be tough.

Mike Cooper, i was expecting more from him this year now that he has a fair bit of experience under his belt, ive been disappointed with what ive seen of him this year. Paul Wood, sometimes he can be decent but he can also be frustrating as well especially with his ball handling.

Hill was a bit off the pace (unusually for him), Ratch didn't do much of note, Hodge went off although I would say it was between him and Tyke for MOM.
Congratulations on calling someone a moron for disagreeing with you btw.

At the moment, we have better/more experienced players in those postions.
To "throw" these youngsters in at such a crucial time in the season, will (more than likely) be folly.
One bad game, does not a bad team, make.'"
That's the thing. Most of the time young players get into teams because a first team player in their position has got an injury. It's the same for most youngsters. But if nobody has an injury in that position or there is someone else higher up in the pecking order, the youngster wont get in.
With time and patience, if they're good enough, they'll cement their place in the side at some point.

Agree with this totally, only downside is the younger is always compared to he previous player in their position, for instance Gaz Obrian will always be compared to Briers, Ratchford to Hodgeson etc and woe be tide if they make an error whilst they are learning/gaining experience

Did you watch the match or have you just named those 3 players because they are usually mentioned for MOM. Hill wasn't at his best. Hodgson went off Injured and Ratchford didn't see much ball. McCarthy was the best of a bad bunch but ignoring that game he has been in great form for a number of months anyway.
