Signing Harris must be the best bit of business in rugby league ever, from Leeds, they paid us something like £375k and got over £2m in fees from Cardiff and Bradford plus his on field contribution when he took them from a struggling team in 96/97 to Grand Finalists in 98 and Challenge Cup winners in 99 (their first trophy after a long drought).

It was a bad deal for Bradford and they couldn't afford the legal costs and settlement but purely in playing terms it wasn't a complete disaster as Harris though not able to dominate in the way he had before he left to go to union, did play some good games for Bradford especially in the second half of that 2005 season when they won a Grand Final, which is the first and only time he ever won the top prize.

The game had moved on and Harris wasn't able to do the stuff he used to, running laterally across the field and then doing that jinking sidestep to go through the line, and also teams were onto his long spiralling pass which got intercepted after he returned from union. But he was still fundamentally always a very good rugby player with a good pass, good kicking game and great rugby brain, he is one of the best ever Warrington Academy products, so I always have respect for him for that.
