The one that springs to mind for he has to be Nigel Vagana, classy centre who came here at a young age, Talking of Kiwi's, Duanne Mann and Gary Mercer were classic signings for the wire too... but since they were both NZ internationals at the time it does not count!!!

Actually sometimes went missing if he didn't fancy it !!

Played a match against Bramley I think and we lost away. He was always standing 3-4 yards behind the line at most plays.....

Mike Nicholas. Was on his way back from a RU tournament in Scotland I think, called in at Wilderspool to watch his old Aberavon RU pals............. and ending up having a trial. Legend has it that Murphy was too terrified to tell him he couldnt have a contract - so he was signed.

Simon Gillies and Bruce McGuire were only here a short while but made a big impression on me with their professionalism
