Just stating as the other Wigan fan did that ATM we are playing the best rugby. You're right though I am getting excited too early. Will shut up now.

| Lots more to come from the Wire though. Including the return of our captain, first choice hooker, a class international utility back, power impact forward and scrum half. I would like to see how other teams would have coped with those key players missing.

| With regards to Gelling, surely Wigan have better backs coming through than him? He's taking up a space a young English lad could have and ting all over it (sorry).
Does he count on quota? Total waste if he is.

Wigan have had injuries all season too and two of our highest earners, Fielden and Roberts, havent played all season. Even last night in addition to these we had Lauaki, Prescott, Richards and Flower out who would all be in our 17.

You're pushing it a bit there. Didn't you know Roberts had retired? I'd bet him and Fielden haven't played 5 games between them from the start of last season. Flower wouldn't be in your top 17, he's played mostly U20. The only really top current player in that list is Richards.

How is it pushing it, its a fact or are you proposing that we can only pick and choose what injuries to include. Warrington may have had some injuries but the rest of SL has had them too.
Yes Roberts retired a few weeks ago due to injury but so what. He retired as he was going to miss the rest of this season anyway and his contract was up at the end of the year. It has still left us a player down and has still taken up a good chunk of our salary cap. If he had retired at the end of last season we could have got a replacement with his £100k+ a year salary. Fielden is injured and again is taking up a good chunk of the salary cap but he has always been our first choice prop. Flower when fit has been in our starting 13 all season, never mind the 17. Prescott and Lauaki have both been in the 17 all season when fit. Richards is our first choice winger and goal kicker. These are facts, check our starting 17's all season if you are in doubt. I could have easily named some others that are back up players who were also injured but didnt as they wouldnt be in the first choice 17. Warrington may have had some injuries but the rest of SL has had them too.

| I love it when RL fans rattle off a list of injured players (half of whom you wouldn't recognise if they walked past you in a club tracksuit in Morrison's) and then claim they would all be in the first seventeen.
Roberts and Fielden were both finished years ago, it's no-one's fault but Wigan's if they've continued to employ them.

Dont be silly, as I said check our team sheets, its not difficult. There is no denying the fact that in our first choice 17 this season Richards, Lauaki, Flower and Prescott have been in it. There is also no denying that Fielden has been our first choice prop when he has been fit and that Roberts would have been full back if it wasnt for his injury. This is just from last night by the way, you could also talk about the likes of Carmont who has missed half the season but I suppose he isnt in the first choice 17 either. Only your Warrington bias would try to argue any differently.
You also mustn't have heard of a little thing that a player has called a contract. When Fielden and Roberts signed their contracts there was no reason to suspect that they would have the injury problems they did and in the case of Roberts it is hardly his fault that he got tackled into a post. ou simply cant just get rid of a layer because they get injured.
Sorry that this doesnt fit in with the warrington we are victims, we are the only team with injuries mentality but many other teams have had as many, if not more injuries than Warrington this season.
