39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| Quote: Thelonius "I remember a few months ago some goon claiming that the Wigan/Saints game is the only true derby as the 12th Earl of Derby gave his name to the horse race and that fixture, Clare also spouted this little 'fact'. Maybe it's true but if so then the 12th Earl of Derby (the Epsom Derby is named after him) must have had some crystal ball. He died in 1834, 38 years before Wigan were formed and 39 before Saints.'"
The CURRENT Earl of Derby was the one that confirmed his FAMILY gave their name to two sporting events. The first being the horse race, the second being Wigan v Saints.
I hardly think he would make it up just for a laugh

Millward, Noble and Jiffy all good value though as is Clare Balding. Not sure where the criticism is coming from!'"
I thought that also - wasn't there a big build-up to one of Cup Final wins with it supposed to be French's last as commentator?

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

Oh I dont know, when I read your posts on here I assume that you're just making it up for a laugh. Although it could be that you're mentally ill.

Give the Beeb some credit - it was French's last final as commentator, I think. They now just wheel him out for occasions when only diehards will be watching, as any potential casual observers will be wrapped up by other sports elsewhere. Thus doing their bit for promoting the image of the sport.
