We didn't win the league.

We won a home play-off tie and the chance of club call.

Oh happy days hope we don't bother next year.

Saw us win the Championship (as it was then) in '73 and enjoyed every minute of it at Hull on Friday. Felt very proud to be a Wire.

We've won the League Leaders Plate, because vwe are the League Leaders after the regular season. We've also won entrance to another competition and our status as League Leaders gives us various advantages in that competition, but we have not yet won the League.
Well at least we've won something (Ithink).

Wire have finished top of the league and can be proud of that achievement. That it is a true achievement is marked by the award of one of only three trophies in top level RL. However, this league is 'won' by contesting and winning the league play-offs in the Grand Final. Winning that makes a club Super League Champions - the 'winners' of the Super League.

BTW, I think Sally C is being a bit unfair to fans in general referring to them as 'having achieved nothing'. Fans may not win pro-sports trophies but lots will have many true achievements in life - successful families, businesses, charity works, amateur sports comps, medals, elections, school governorships, life-saving medical careers, fire service, military honours and so on. Just because a person was not born with a high-level sports talent does not mean they cannot achieve anything worthwhile.
