Quote mark_m="mark_m"I must be watching a different player. LAndersons work-rate compared to Westwoods is feeble, rarely takes the ball up in the difficult areas of the field, prone to errors with the ball and flatters to deceive with his 'big hits' which invariably don't stick and have been the cause of some conceded tries. Generally has one good game in about three and this season has been particularly poor, couple of times being utterly terrible (Hull at home in particular).
Good player but we can and will do better.'"
Perhaps not to the extreme that you are but I'm with you. I've never seen him roll his sleeves up and say take three drives in a set when you're really under the cosh, that's not to say he hides or anything like that, I just don't think he's the workaholic type, but maybe having Westwood doing that Smith has encouraged him to almost do less work but make it explosive, so make very run & tackle telling on the oppo.
I've enjoyed him, I think he's got better year on year (prior to this year) though I still feel there's a big 3 months in him. He's always conducted himself well, has given no less than 100% when he's took to the field and I'm sorry he's moving on but he is certainly replaceable. I'm pretty open minded ref Waterhouse, I just hope he continues the trend of our overseas players recently slotting straight in seamlessly.
