Quote: Rob Wire "Have to disagree with that, apart from supporting James graham's fine break for a simple run in i thought he was fairly anonymous as were both our half backs, his kicking from hand wasn't the best either.

Robinson was England's most dangerous player especially in the first half, James Graham best in the forwards and Sam Tomkins did 2 great try saving tackles. Chris Bridge got no quality ball so wasn't really involved, Brett Hodgson almost blew it for the Exiles when he cut back inside and went for glory rather than passing to supporting players on his right for a simple try.'"

Its not his game - he's a support player. TS has developed his defence which was spot on tonight.

I agree, like i was saying on the other page, Robinson actually caused Australia problems in the 4 nations and was one of very few players that could come home with their head held high. He's really improved over the last 2 years especially since Brough's arrival, he's done well for Huddersfield and England at hooker.

my worry is that mcgillvray is too much of a short booty to go up against the ockers.'"

McGillvaray (how DO you spell his name?) would be bombed into oblivion. It is unfortunate, but a reality that 6' plus threequarters are a requirement of the international game, especially when you look at the height of the Aus threequarters.

Sorry I'm not having this Robinson "love-in". I can see what people are saying about him being one of England's better performers last night and in the Four Nations but to me that's part of the problem: he looks good in a losing team. For me he is one of the reasons that it is a losing team.

I concede the twenty metre breaks from dummy half that usually come from about 30m out of our own line are good but I think he has a "Michael Sullivan"-ness about him when he goes off-script when the team are in a good attacking position leaving his "creative" half-backs looking lost and seeing the like of Myler having to go into acting half for the next two tackles whilst the play is set-up again only to find you're on last tackle with a defence not remotely stretched and ready to defend the last tackle option.

No doubt people will say Robinson was better than Buderous last night because Buderus wasn't as "showy" but there can be no doubt that Buderous' service to Chase and Leluai allowed them to shine as they knew exactly where the dummy-half service was going time after time.

Buderus didn't need to be showy as they had Lueluai and Chase in the side for that side of their game, Buderus just needed to be a rock with good distribution where as Robinson had to take on the mantle of being our creative player as the creativity with ball in hand certainly wasn't going to come from either Sinfield or Myler.

Thats not having a go at Myler as everyone apart from Steve McNamara recognises that he isn't an attack minded scrum half in the mould of Danny Brough, by pairing Myler with Sinfield (who has looked anonymous at 6 before for GB/England) then we wern't going to have any natural creativity, Robinson would have recognised that like any good player would have done so the onus was on him to try and break their line along with making us good yardage from acting half.
