| Champions again, it seems you are entering the realm of the football fan. We should give swinton the credit they deserve for getting to this point in the CC, there is no guarantee that the first team would be beat them (we may have an off day) let alone the reserves.
Anyone who is fit to play should be played.
any doubts, rest them, and we should be ok but we cant hedge our bets on a reserve side.
is there any rule regarding squads played in the CC? would we even be allowed to play a full reserve side?
Also why would god play a weakened team when in the round previous he played as strong a team as possible?

| It's simple enough to see why this forum is going down the pan when people like you two go on the attack, when all I've done is voiced my view and the view of a fair amount also.
And what's with this venomous attitude towards football? Open your eyes and compare the FA Cup to the CC.
Ideally RL and the Challenge Cup would have high potential for 'giantkillings' as football does, but because of the nature of the sports/scoring, it's far easier to turn the game one-sided in Rugby, and that coupled with a transparent gap between professional and semi-pro and then amateur means that results are 'near' certainties. It's not desireable but it's reality.
'Show the Swinton players the respect they deserve' - Why not show the Warrington reserves similar respect? In my view the Warrington Reserve side is good enough to defeat Swinton and that at the end of the day is what we need to do - Win. There isn't much point in delivering a cricket score except highlighting the gap in class again, we just have to get the job done. No matter what team we put out, it will still be a great occasion for Swinton and their supporters anyway and they've done very well to reach this point in the competition.
'Also why would god play a weakened team when in the round previous he played as strong a team as possible?'- He can do as he wishes and thinks best, but dont be naive and just assume he'll do as he did for the Keighley match. The game against a resurgent Leeds side is one many are labelling as a very big game and simply must be treated as priority over the Swinton match.
Man Utd fan? - Hmmm not quite.

and all they did was respond to your request for "thoughts", you need to grow some.
As for playing our u20s against Swinton: to be honest I wanted to go to Wembley again this year so I don't think it would be a sensible thing to do.

| I think we should maybe rest 1 or 2 players like we did against Keighley, but otherwise play a decent team, not only showing Swinton respect, but also to ensure we actually do progress to the quarter finals

| Yes our Under 20's could probably beat Swinton, but it would be a bit disrespectful to them and the competition to do this.
But it would also be pointless playing a full strength team, so we should definitely rest players who are looking tired, and give those on the fringes of the squad like Chris Riley a much needed run out.

| I would be go and watch our Under 20's v Swinton. I will not be going if we are playing the first team with a couple of players rested (which I assume will be the case).

| Only players I'd consider resting is Moz & Carvell, and maybe Westwood. Obviously Briers, Hodgson and LAnderson who picked up knocks at the weekend too. Apart from that, keep the 3/4's and OB going.
Obviously to do the above means none of our first choice forwards are out there so it would mean a recall for at least one of Mitch, Tyke & Blythe.

| Did hudds not get knocked out by a team 2 div lower when tony smith was coach. sure I heard him mention it in an interview, so he will give Swinton the respect they deserve.

| Its a tricky one to call for TS because of the Leeds game the following week. But we must show Swinton and the Challenge Cup respect.
I would like some players to be rested. But not so many that our chances of progressing is put in danger.
Obviously in TS we trust, but I hope we rest Moz, Brett, Lee, Louis, Ben W, and Monas M.
By resting six players we would be able to field a team that shows respect to not only Swinton but the Challenge Cup as a competition, whilst also giving us a very good chance of progressing to the next round.

Who comes in to replace those 6? Blythe, Riley, Evans, Clarke, Williams....? Mitchell and McCarthy both on loan, aren't they, rather than dual registration?
So,
Riley
Williams
Evans
Atkins
King
Bridge
O'Brien
Carvell
Clarke
Wood
Solomona
Blythe
Grix
Higham
Cooper
Joel Monas
Laithwaite?
