| A question for you Sad One, which players in the current Wire squad would you like in your Saints team?'"
From a saints fans point of view I think Ben Westwood is an awesome forward and any fan of any club would have him in their team like a shot. (only my opinion and feel free to disagree).

| Slightly dissapointed with this, and the Saints fans must be happy. Puletua is a real robust forward and I'd loved to have seen him in a Wire jersey.
Nay mind!

| Quote Saddened!="Saddened!"Why is that? He's been playing really well this season. A lot of booming hits and becoming very dangerous with the ball and his link up with Shenton.'"
You keep saying this, I think your yardstick for 'really well' may be wrong, really well for how naff he's been before possibly, really well in context to rest of the league - No.
I've watch him in at least 5 games this year and he's done nothing - he's not been awful, he's just been solid, so unless he's been brilliant in the other 7. I'll bet you he's done far less than someone like Solomona who I and many others have criticised heavily on here.

| Whilst he is undoubtedly a great player I did have concerns about ourselves signing him on a two year deal given that we are already a team with numerous players nearer the end than the beginning their of careers.
So we have missed out on him; I can console myself that we will have that salary cap space available to either persuade King or Anderson (with a bit of change from that one) to stay and that Saints’ arm has been forced to give Puletua a bigger and longer contract than they were planning to.
Win – win for me. I’m sure when we announce our signing(s) everybody will be happy. And let’s not forget that with the Aussie salary cap going up in 2013 then some of the top younger Aussies may just fancy a year or two in the UK now before the big Aussie bucks arrive.

That's the comforting reality we are faced with. Puletua would have been a good addition, although your concern over age is a valid point. So missing out on his signature isn't disastrous either.
It'll be interesting to see who comes and goes at the end of this year.

| Quote NickyKiss="NickyKiss"I've seen this combined teams posted between Wigan and Saints fans and Wigan and Wire fans and it's normally somebody in the middle of both that could give a reasonable assesment of it so i'll have a crack-
Hodgson- Ageing better then Wellens and brings more of an allround game
J Monaghan- The best winger at either club
Bridge- The best centre at either club imo
Shenton- A very solid option
King- 2nd best winger at either club and his best position imo
Briers- Is getting himself on the field so beats Pryce straight away
Lomax- Very impressed with him since his move into halfback
Graham- Nailed on pick
Roby- M Monaghan is class and would get in any other superleague sides starting 13 but not Saints
Morley- Nailed on like Graham
Westwood- Has developed into one of superleagues best back rowers
Puletua- A quality player
Harrison- Not sure 13 will be his long term position but he'd have to get a place in a combined 17
subs
Perry- Needs a run of games now but is a class act
Wood- Hugely underrated player
Soliola-Impact from the bench with instructions to hammer people in the tackle
M Monaghan- 2nd best hooker in superleague
10 Wire and 7 Saints in my side so not a great deal of difference and Roby and Graham are that good they can carry that sort of quality difference on their shoulders and keeps Saints in with a shout.'"
As ever, Nicky Kiss is spot on. Perhaps some arguments over Soliola or Wilkin for me, but I'd agree with the balance of Wire/Saints. Atkins could push Shenton if form stays good. And Roby/Monas could go either way.

I know its fashionable to talk up Lomax and talk down Myler but for me Myler has been top class this year and is in front of Lomax.

| I'll agree with you there PY, what i've seen of Myler is top draw, i just wish people would stop thinking 'he's no Lee Briers', just let the lad play his game and stop comparing him to Lee.

Think Atkins is arguably infront of Shenton. I'd personally prefer him out of the two, only just, mind.
Roby v Monas is possibly the closest individual contest in the league.

| Just heard a rumour that Saints may offer King a contract for the next 2 years at centre.
