On reflection, we are exactly where I thought we would be. Smith just needs to iron out the inconsistency kinks. Only 3rd of the way through mind.

Mummy duck is now thoroughly depressed. SHE was the one that was famous for losing five in a row........until the 2011 GF!!!!!: |
|
| This time last year weren't we something like 1st best defence and second highest attack. The form book means sod-all at the moment. We've won some games that fans expected us to lose, we've lost some that we expected to win. All the other teams are the same.....(teams like Hudds and Cas) have just had more unexpected victories at the moment.
Top 4 at Easter, Top 3 (with a gap) by July, Top 2 by September....that will do me.

| The one thing you have to respect in this competition is the toughness of other teams. You simply can't expect a win. I'm enjoying Rugby more than ever this season, and there are exciting times ahead.
I think to have won 7 and lost 3 at this stage, especially after the nightmare start we had in Cardiff, is pretty impressive. The only game where I wasn't impressed with our attitude was against Catalans a couple of weeks back. And on both occasions against Huddersfield, they just raised their performance to a level where you have to congratulate your opposition on the night - even if your team could have been smarter in certain departments. I think the reverse fixture at HJ will see us potentially put in our most accomplished performance of this season as the players will have that particular game in their sight now.
It's all looking positive and with King recovered and an absolute full bill of health in general, we approach the half way stage in much better position than most.

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

Take your pick but I suspect it's a bit of both.

| Im happy with where we are so far. Biggest concern is what happens when we play a decent team without Briers... Huddersfield ruined us, so i hope he can stay fit throughout.
Against a lower team (no offence) we can dominate in other areas, but when were matched almost man for man,we lack direction and we struggle with Briers. Thats my only concern.
In Smith I Trust though...

| The first 10 games have been a bit strange for me, OK we blew away Crusaders and Quins but there are a couple of games that could have gone either way. The performance against Saints away was very good but I think we played them at the right time, We play that game now and it might be a different story. The Hull KR game was also not the best and could have gone either way. We have shown a determination I have not seen before and even in the Catalan game they carried on to the hooter.
I agree with other posters in that with the injuries sustained in the first game the situation could have been a lot worse.
Two things that I am really pleased about is the fact that younger, less established players have been given the opportunity and then taken it. The second thing is I feel like I have been entertained in every game (Including the ones we lost) with some great skill on show in attack and some real determination in defence.
