I can't believe anyone would question Westwoods courage!?

Mind you I must say whether we dislike the player or not, Sam Tomkins has huge ability as an athlete and worked himself into the ground last night trying to get his team back in the game. He is real competitor and has fantastic pace, speed and balance and a real desire to win.

Lets face it, we wouldn't get annoyed at a mediocre player.

I realise that most posters on the forums have very little RL knowledge or are juveniles making juvenile and personal comments, but anybody that seriously thinks that Tomkins was the offending party in the westwood incident is deluded. Westwood did not like being tackled the way that he was, and took exception to it. He should not have got away with throwing the punches from the floor and them another when he stood up, he may get punished but i'm not bothered either way.Westwoods comments when interviewed on sky indicate that he knew he was out of order. Tomkins is sometimes petulant, but is extremely talented and a great competitor and disliked by opposing fans for that reason. he comes in for a lot of rough house tactics but keeps bouncing back.Still looked the most dangerous individual on the pitch last night. He would be one of the first names on the teamsheet at any SL club. it is indicative of his talent that there is another long thread on your board about him. He is also popular amongst fellow superleague players, if not the posters on this forum!

Well played Wire, top drawer stuff. Wigan beaten in every dept by a great performance. Smith has now assembled a team who look like the real deal and in that form they are the team to beat this season. Cannot believe how much Blythe has improved.

there's a difference between 'a desire to win' and cheating or dirty play - he's becoming a nasty piece of work on the field and is losing the respect of many neutral fans IMO

He is still a young player and he seems to be carrying the weight of expectation for the whole team.

Anyone who wouldn't want him playing in the P&B is clearly crazy.

i'd love to have in my team,nay bother but age isn't an excuse - he's mature enough now professionally to know better IMO
he has far too much talent to have to resort to anything nasty - leave that nonsense to the inferior bully boys.
