Did anybody else notice that the club decided to hide away the bad news, predicted by many on here, relating to sales of replica shirts and season tickets this year?

In the Guardian it has a couple of little snippets relating to sales of season tickets and replica shirts compared to last season.

To kill your suspense:

season tickets sales are UP 10%

Replica shirt sales are UP 1,000

Good news all round.

are these re-sales for all the ones taken back with dye running

Paul just a couple of questions, would you have expected season ticket and shirt sales to have been down this season on the back of winning the challenge cup for a 2nd time last year against a side that have dominated SL in recent years ? Last seasons win was a lot bigger than the previous years as we made that big step in beating one of the big 2 that have dominated RL in recent times which would have really put us on the map.

We took around 30-40k to wembley last year, would you say that selling 1,000 extra shirts is a good return on the above figures ? Its not even 5% on 30k, any increase is a good increase but its what you would have expected to be honest given what we have achieved in the last couple of seasons, the extra shirt sales are certainly not down to the quality of the shirts as they are awful and thats putting it kindly.

Its more a case that a lot of fans (many new ones) just want to buy one of our shirts to be associated with success, do you think this same shirt would have sold as well during the 2006 or 2007 season given its quality and the lack of success back then ?

Its success thats put sales up as thats a natural thing to happen, its not down to ISC given us great quality shirts as they havn`t.

No I wouldn't - you'd have to be an idiot to think so however that didn't stop plenty of people vocally estolling the view that, due to the poor nature of the shirts, sales would be massively down or others deducing that because the club weren't giving weekly updates on the number of season ticket sales it meant that numbers were down.


Considering these people continually post such stuff it does irk ever so slightly when the actual information is given they do not have the inkling to comment any further.
