| As said earlier the trains from Blackpool arrive at Bank Quay via Preston & Wigan and not at Warrington Central

Weeeelll, not straightforward actually.
First of all - it is just as feasible to arrive at Central from Blackpool as it is at Bank Quay. In fact, looking at times, it might be better for you to get the train to Central (change in Manchester) as it will save you the 15 minute walk. Also, there is some engineering work between Preston and Crewe on Saturday - if it overruns you could end up on a replacement bus from Preston.
